When choosing eye glasses it is important to know what style, size and color that best suits your face. Selecting the correct frame shapes can give a face younger more youthful appearance. Certain eye glass frames will complement a square face more than others.

Select eye glass frames that are narrow and oval, small rectangles, or cat-eye shaped. These frames should not be much larger than the eyes. Thick plastic frames are not recommended for a square face. Even if the frame shape is correct, adding thick plastic will give the appearance of heaviness. So opt for small thin frames made with metal or plastic.

Also, consider your skin color, especially when selecting metal frames. All people have either warm or cool skin tones.
