A hojojutsu bundle can be used to tie a large or bundle of twine, yarn or cord together for easy storage. A hojojutsu bundle will help to keep the cord tangle-free and easy to use when you need it.

Instructions

    1

Tie a loop at one end of the cord. Place the loop over your left thumb and hold you hand so that the palm is facing you with the thumb pointing straight up. Pull the cord down, passing it between your ring finger and you little finger.

    2

Next. make a clockwise turn and run the cord around your hand to the back side until you reach the outside of your little finger. Pass the cord between your middle finger and index finger to make a figure eight, ending on the outside of your hand at your index finger. Repeat the figure eight pattern until you have wrapped all but about three feet of cord.

    3

Remove the cord from your left hand, being careful not to drop the loops. You should be able to hold the bundle firmly in your left hand with the knot of the loop in the first joint of your index finger. With your right hand, hold the free end of the cord and make a single clockwise turn around the bundle. Next cross the cord between your thumb and index finger and the first turn and wrap tightly back away from you hand in order to lock the first turn in place.

    4

Extending your index finger along the bundle, make two more wraps over your finger. To lock the bundle in place, cross over and under the last two turns and pull tight. Be sure to keep the loop free so that it pulls out smoothly when you are ready to use the cord.
