Instructions for Iron-On Rhinestones

Iron-on rhinestones can add some sparkle and style to your clothing and accessories. Several rhinestone design appliques allow for a wide range of style when designing your top, skirt, purse or jeans. Here are some useful guidelines in applying rhinestones to your project.

Heat your iron to the wool, or medium, setting. Place the garment you will accessorize on a hard, flat surface.

Remove the packaging and sticky backing on the rhinestone applique, then place the sticky side directly onto the area you would like to add the design.

Place the muslin cloth on top of the garment carefully, covering the design element. This step will protect your clothing and the applique.

Place the iron directly onto the iron-on patch covered with the muslin cloth. Keep the iron in one spot. Leave the iron in place for about 45 to 60 seconds depending on the weight of the fabric. Denim will take longer and silk will take a shorter amount of time.

Allow the garment to cool for a few seconds. Remove the muslin and then the transfer paper of the applique.
