A single long scarf can give you many wardrobe options. It's not only great for wearing around your head, but it can also be a top or an accent for a dress. Knowing a few basic scarf techniques can help you to wear a scarf in various attractive ways.
Instructions
Wear a Scarf Over Hair

Place the scarf on your head so the edge of it comes to your forehead, or so that it exposes a little bit of hair in front. Either position can be attractive, so experiment with what looks best on you.
2Gather up the ends of the scarf and pull them behind your head. If your scarf is wide, you may need to rearrange the scarf on your head so it doesn't drape too far down.
3Tie a knot in the scarf, pulling it tight against your head.
4Rearrange the scarf, if necessary, so it lies comfortably against your head. Also arrange your hair, tucking it in or revealing strands. Then, tie another knot to secure the scarf.
5Wrap the extra scarf fabric around the knots you created and tuck the ends into the knots.
Wear a Scarf as a Top

Hold the scarf in front of your chest.
7Arrange the scarf so it covers your chest and feels secure.
8Pull the ends behind you and tie the scarf securely.
Wear a Scarf as an Accent

Wear a camisole or spaghetti strap dress that you want to accent.
10Hold the scarf centered behind you, grasping one end of the scarf in each hand.
11Pull the right side of the scarf in front of you and over your left shoulder. Leave it untucked so you can arrange the rest of the scarf.
12Wrap the right side of the scarf across your chest and tuck it into your top or dress.
13Arrange the scarf so it falls the way you want it to in the front, then tuck the left side of the scarf into the strap of your top or dress.
