Christian Dior is celebrated for his luscious designs, supreme feminine designs and structured cuts. History
Christian Dior started his "New Look" collection in the late 1940s, redeveloping the standards of women's clothing with plunging skirts, layers of fabric and an hourglass silhouette that helped to redefine the post-war era of France.

By 1950, Dior's name was licensed into luxury goods like hosiery, hats, jewelry and handbags, the first haute-couture house to create a licensing agreement. The expansion nevertheless began the norm for future haute-couture houses.
