How to Tie a Houndstooth Desert Scarf

Houndstooth is a two-tone fabric print characterized by abstract checks. The fashionable pattern originated in Scotland in the form of woven wool cloth.     Fold the scarf in half to make a square shape. Fold the square diagonally to make a triangular shape. Make the tip of the triangle face downward. Now place it around your neck as if you were tying a bandanna. Knot it close for a shorter look or knot it loose for a longer look.

    For scarves longer than four feet, such as those commonly seen in Europe, start by centering the scarf on the back of your neck with the two ends hanging on each side of you. Pull each end across and around your neck and make sure there is plenty of fabric hanging on your chest. Then pull it tighter and tuck in the ends to have a fuller bunch of fabric at your neck.
