How to Use a Double Belt

The double belt refers to a fashion accessory for women that enjoyed popularity in the 1980s. The double belt consists of two skinny belts, often studded or with a comparable decorative element, that connect to make an extra-long belt that wraps around the waist. Instructions

Put on a long cardigan over tights, leggings or skinny jeans. Alternately put on a long tube dress or shirt dress.

Wrap the belt around your waist or low on your hips, crossing the ends of the belt over each other.

Fasten the belt buckle of the double belt. If you wrap the belt higher around your waist, cinch the belt tighter for a more finished, polished appearance. If you wrap the belt lower around your hips, fasten the belt so that it is loose and casual.

Adjust the belt so that you create space between the top and bottom sections of the belt. This will prevent the two parts from overlapping and eliminating the full effect of the double belt.
