Bandanas come in many colors and patterns beyond the regular blue or red paisley. These days, they come in solid colors, with different printed graphics and in any color to match or contrast with an outfit. Bandanas are worn for many reasons: fashion, to catch sweat or to make a statements are just a few. Although bandanas are most commonly associated as something to wear on the head, they can also be worn on the wrist in different styles.
The Simple Band
The first and easiest way of folding a wristband bandana is easy and functional. It will create a thick band around the wrist, great for mopping sweat off the brow. Fold the bandana in half into a triangle. Take the widest side of the triangle and starting folding it downward, in one inch intervals. You should now have a thick band. Wrap the bandana around your wrist, with the "seam" of the band against the skin, so that it won't come undone. Double knot the ends and twist it so the loose ends are under your wrist.
The Pinned Bracelet Band
For a more fashion-conscious look, you can pin the bandana instead of tying it. Fold the bandana in half to make a triangle. Start folding the widest side downward, in two inch intervals. Start wrapping the band around the wrist, starting with one end. When the bandana band has wrapped around the wrist once, pin the end that is against the skin to the layer above it. Continue wrapping, covering the pin. When you get to the other end, finish by pinning the end to the layer below it with a fashion pin or a safety pin, it you are going for a grungier look.
The Exposed Triangle Gauntlet Wristband
If you want a larger area either for fashion reasons or to have a band that sticks out less from the skin for utilitarian reasons, can can tie the wristband in a way that leaves the triangle shape intact. Fold the band into a triangle, and then fold it again, making a smaller triangle. Wrap the triangle around the wrist and tie the ends together. Position the bandana so that the tip is pointing towards you and is on the top on the wrist.
