How to Tie a Headband With Tails

Headbands with tails are not only stylish, versatile accessories, but also can help change the look of your hairstyle with minimal effort. These headbands come in a wide variety of fabrics, prints and lengths, and can be worn by women and children of all ages. While learning to tie them securely can be a bit tricky at first, headbands with tails are an affordable way to express your individual style.

Instructions

Center the headband across the top of your hands, palms facing upward. Your hands should be about a foot apart.

Grasp the headband so that four fingers of each hand cover the fabric.

Lift the headband above the top of your head, and lay it flat against your hair. Adjust it until it is as close or as far from your forehead as you like.

Bring the two tails of the headband together behind your head, and slightly above the nape of your neck. Loop the two tails together as if you were tying a shoestring without the bow.

Tighten the headband by gently tugging the tails, and secure it in place by forming another knot. You can bring the tails around your front to lie on either side of your neck, or let them hang freely down your back.
