How to Tell Real D&G Sunglasses From Fakes

You bought your Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses on an auction site and now you're worried you may have bought a fake. Counterfeit designer pieces are getting harder and harder to spot, so you need to know exactly can you tell if your pair of D&G shades is real or fake. Several clues will give away the phony glasses.

Use common sense. We all know that designer sunglasses cost a pretty penny. If the price of your shades seems too good to be true, it probably is. It's perfectly normal to get a bit of a discount, but if you're scoring designer sunglasses for 95 percent off, there's a pretty good chance they're not real. Price is your first identifier. After price, there are other ways you can tell if your glasses are real.

Ask if your sunglasses come with all the bells and whistles. Any pair of designer glasses will come with a case, cleaning cloth and probably a certificate of authenticity. If you're not buying straight from the manufacturer, you may not get all of these extra accessories. If your purchase doesn't include the extras, it doesn't necessarily mean your D&G shades aren't real, but you should do more research to be sure.

Check out the D&G website and look up the glasses you want. Write down as much information on the glasses as you can. Compare it to your pair to see if everything matches up including the same dimensions. Look for all the little details. If you can, get your hands on a pair that you know are real and compare the weight of the shades. More cheaply made sunglasses are usually lighter than real ones.

Go to an established seller if you are buying online. Check out the buyer rating. Note if most of the customers are satisfied with the quality of their purchase. Take a good in-depth look at any seller's feedback rating and buyer comments before sending your money.

Look for the model number. All D&G sunglasses have a model number. Check your glasses on the left side of the inside frame. The model number should say D&G and be followed by four digits. If you don't see a model number on your glasses, you probably bought a fake.
