The Correct Way to Take Care of New Ear Piercings

Its vital to keep new ear piercings clean to prevent infection. Germs can easily get into the holes. Hydrogen peroxide safely kills any germs in the ear. The hydrogen peroxide may sting a little, but that feeling goes away quickly. Earring cleaning solution is also available and the cleaning process works the same way. Twisting earrings will prevent the skin from attaching to the post. Its best to clean the earrings twice a day.

Instructions

Wash your hands with unscented, antibacterial soap and water. Dry them with a towel.

Grip the front of one of the earrings with your thumb and forefinger. Twist the studs around two to three times. Repeat with the other ear.

Soak one end of the cotton swab with hydrogen peroxide.

Wipe underneath the stud. Carefully place the cotton swab tip behind the hole and wipe it clean.

Wet the other end of the cotton swab with hydrogen peroxide and clean the other ear in the same fashion.

Throw out the cotton swab.
