How to Put on a Bracelet With One Hand

Putting a bracelet on with one hand can be a tricky proposition, even for those with nimble fingers. The task becomes an even greater challenge if someone has arthritic hands, a tight-fitting chain, or depth perception issues. While there are a number of commercially-produced products on the market that serve as single hand bracelet-securing aids, there are ways to put on a bracelet with one hand using some creative hand manipulation and common household tape.

Instructions

Check the clasp on the bracelet to make sure it is in working order and that the clasp opens easily. If the clasp is rusty or seems to stick, apply a touch of lubricating substance, such as mineral oil or a product like WD-40.

Sit down at a table using a chair that positions you high enough to comfortably rest your forearm on the table at waist level.

Position a non-slip pad on the surface and place the bracelet on the pad with the clasp side facing up.

Position your wrist on top of the bracelet, palm side up.

Use a 1 inch piece of non-stick household tape to adhere to the connecting side of the clasp and secure it to the inside center of your wrist.

Use your free hand to bring the clasp mechanism up to meet the ring side of the bracelet clasp and secure. Remove the tape when finished.
