How to Wash a Burberry Bag

A Burberry bag is extremely expensive, but it is made to last. A Burberry handbag that is well taken care of can last for decades. It will eventually need to be cleaned. But, cleaning a handbag the wrong way can damage it and lower its longevity. Read on to learn how to wash a Burberry bag.

Use baby wipes to clean the outside of the bag. Being formulated for use on a babys skin, the soap used in baby wipes is extremely gentle. Choose a baby wipe that is free of fragrance, dyes and alcohols. One such brand is Huggies Natural Care. These wipes will clean the outside of the bag without leaving a residue behind.

Wipe the outside of your Burberry bag gently to dislodge any grime. Remember to clean the handle or strap as well, as those parts are often the most in need of the most cleaning.

Clean the inside of the bag differently, depending on the materials. The lining of Burberry bags can be fabric, canvas or suede. The canvas can be cleaned much like the outside of the bag. If the lining is fabric or suede, however, a little more scrubbing may be necessary. Use a very delicate liquid detergent such as Woolite on these linings. Put a small amount of the detergent on the end of a nail brush and brush it gently across the lining. Then, blot the moisture away from the wet area with a fabric towel. Using a paper napkin or towel will leave small particles stuck to the lining.

Wash the metal parts of the bag with a small amount of glass cleaner. Spray a small amount onto a towel and rub the metal with it. Be careful not to use too much glass cleaner or it may drip onto the rest of the bag.
