Making Peacock Feather Hair Clips

Peacocks are a sign of good luck and their strikingly colored feathers are highly sought after. The dazzling metallic colors of the male peacocks tail plumage are perfect for feathered hair clips. The fascinator hair clip can really add pizzazz to your outfit. Add a touch of chic that gives you vintage look by creating your own, homemade peacock feather clips. You can get peacock feathers from craft stores and art shops.

Instructions

Gather the peacock feathers in a bouquet in your hand. Start with the largest one, which will form the focal point of your hair clip. Arrange the other feathers around the central feather in a formation that you find attractive.

Wrap the elastic band around the bottom of the feathers to keep them in place. Set them aside.

Place the quarter-sized circle of felt in front of you and dab a generous dot of glue in the center. Holding the bouquet of feathers firmly, remove the elastic band and press the feathers onto the glue.

Roll the circle of felt around the feathers so it hides the unattractive feather bottoms. Leave the glue to dry.

Dot the back of the felt with glue and stick it to the hair clip. Add embellishments like plastic flowers, buttons and beads if you wish. These can be stuck to the top of the felt with glue. Leave the clip to dry completely before use.
