In winter you can snuggle up beneath a warm, woolly scarf; but in the summer months you might prefer something a little lighter. Tie a silk or thin scarf around your neck with a Hollywood knot. It resembles the same style as a cravat, but can be worn to make an outfit more sophisticated, or add a touch of glamor. Practice the knot several times before you go out. If it comes undone, or you need to remove the scarf, you can put it back on with ease.
Instructions
- 1
Lay out the square scarf flat in front of you. Fold it into an oblong shape by performing a triangle fold. Fold the square in half to create a triangle. Fold the triangle into a thin rectangle from the point upward. Fold it incrementally in sections from the tip.
2Wrap the scarf around your neck. Pull the left side down so it is about two inches longer than the other side.
3Cross the longer end (A) over the top of the shorter end (B).
4Pull A around, underneath B and pass it up through the loop at the top.
5Repeat Step 4 again. Wrap A underneath B, and pull it up through the loop. Tidy up the scarf by wriggling the knot upward towards your neck. Ruffle the fabric so the knot is neat.
