How to Tell if Burberry Jeans Are Real

Founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry of London, the Burberry label is known for quality, style and its signature equestrian logo. Many are familiar with Burberry handbags and the fashion house's classic trench coats, but the company also produces an extensive line of mens, womens and childrens jeans. Unfortunately, there are fake Burberry jeans floating around the market, and theyre not always easy to spot. Knowing how to tell the difference between an authentic pair of Burberry jeans and a potentially expensive fake will save you from wasting your money.

Feel the weight and quality of the denim or corduroy. Burberry only uses top quality products constructed from the finest materials. If the denim feels flimsy or cheap, the jeans are probably fake.

Look for the word BURBERRY on the jeans' product labels, on the back pocket or the back pocket label, and on the buttons. An authentic pair of jeans will always feature the words BURBERRY and LONDON in all capitals. If Burberry is misspelled or theres no LONDON on the tag, the jeans arent authentic.

Examine the jeans and look for the Burberry equestrian logo, which the company has used since 1901. An authentic pair of Burberry jeans will feature a clearly defined embroidered horse, whether on the denim itself or on the label. If the horse looks deformed or is stamped on the denim, the jeans are not authentic Burberry.

Examine all the stitching on the jeans. An authentic pair of Burberry jeans will always feature quality, even stitching and no loose threads. If the stitching is uneven and there are several loose or missing threads, the jeans are fake.

Look for the trademark Burberry tartan pattern on the jeans. If the tan tartan pattern isnt present, this isnt necessarily a sign that the jeans are fake. However, if the pattern is there, but is diagonal or features uneven lines, the jeans arent authentic.
