How to Wrap a Scarf Around the Neck

A neck scarf is a versatile accessory for any outfit. The same scarf can be wrapped multiple ways to achieve different looks with different outfits. Changing a scarf or the way its wrapped can take you from the office to an evening out in no time. Learning all the different methods for wrapping or tying a scarf can be a challenge, but even knowing just a handful of ways to wrap a scarf around your neck will give your outfit a fresh look.

Instructions

Fold the long scarf in half lengthwise. Wrap it around your neck, and thread the loose end of the scarf through the doubled end. For an easy wrap, drape the scarf around your neck and toss one end over your shoulder.

Tie a rosette at your neck. Drape the long scarf over your neck so the ends hang even. Twist the ends until they start coiling in on themselves. Bring the ends up to your neck and allow them to twist onto themselves so the scarf forms a rose shape. Tuck the ends into the scarf.

Wear the scarf under a jacket. Tie a knot in the middle of the long scarf. Drape it over your neck so the knot is in the middle of the back of your neck. Tie a loose knot in front with the ends of the scarf. To wear it over a blouse, drape the scarf over your neck and tie only the knot in front.

Try wearing a square scarf. Fold the square scarf in half diagonally, so it forms a triangle. Drape it around your neck so the point of the triangle hangs in front. Tie a knot behind your neck and and tuck the ends under the scarf.

Take the square scarf and fold it in half diagonally. Drape the point of the triangle in front and wrap one end around your neck. Toss the other end behind your shoulder. Alternately, tie the ends at the back of your neck and bring both ends to the front to drape over your shoulder.

Find a brooch or pin to add an extra accessory to the scarf. For the square scarf, fold it in half to form a triangle first. Drape the triangle or the long scarf over your shoulders so the ends come to the front. Pin the ends together with the brooch or scarf pin. You can also toss one end over your shoulder and pin the scarf off to the side.
