The Timex Expedition analog M4 watch features a chronograph and an elapsed time ring which acts as a stopwatch and a timer. The M4 also features a small 24-hour hand, a stopwatch minute hand and a stopwatch second hand. Three controllers reside on the right edge of the watch, including pusher buttons "A" and "B" and the central "Crown" button, which is used for setting the time and the chronograph.
Instructions

Pull the crown knob, located on the center-right edge of the watch, all the way out to set the time. Twist the crown knob clockwise or counterclockwise, until the current time is reached. Push the knob all the way in to save the settings.
2Pull the crown knob all the way out to set the stopwatch hands to zero. Push the "A" button on the upper-right edge of the Expedition to advance the minute and seconds hands counterclockwise gradually toward the "0" position. Push the "B" button to advance the minute and second hands clockwise gradually toward the "0" position. Push the crown knob back into the watch to save the settings.
3Pull the crown knob all the way out to adjust the hands of the chronograph. Push the "A" button until the second hand points to "0" or the "12-Hour" position. Push the crown knob back into the watch to save the setting. Push the "A" button to start the chronograph, and again to stop the timer. Push the "B" button on the lower-right edge of the watch to reset the chronograph.
4Push the "A" button to begin timing and push the "B" button to split the time. Press the "B" button to record as many split times as you'd like. Push the "A" button to stop timing and push the "B" button to continue timing. Push the "B" button to reset the chronograph.
5Align the "Elapsed Time" ring's "Start/Stop" triangle with the time you wish to start an activity in order to time it. At the completion of the activity, refer to the ring to determine how much time has passed.
6Set the "Elapsed Time" ring triangle to the time you wish to complete an event. Refer to the watch during the event to measure how much time remains.
7Place the watch back-first onto a flat surface or hold the watch parallel to the ground. Point the hour hand at the sun. If it's morning, twist the compass ring until "South" falls after the hour hand, between the hour hand and "12:00." If it's evening, twist the ring until "South" falls before the hour hand, between the hour hand and "12:00."
