How to Paint Sunglasses

Brightly colored sunglasses are fun for the beach or the city, but it can sometimes be difficult to find the exact style of sunglasses you'd like in the color you want. One way to get around that problem is to customize your shades to the color of your liking. Transforming a pair of cheap black wayfarers into an eye-catching neon color is simple and a sure way to stand out.

Instructions

Lay down newspaper, preferably in an outdoor area that's not too windy like a garage, patio or fire escape.

Snap the lenses out of your sunglasses. Do this carefully if the plastic is not very flexible. Wrap your entire hand around the frame to prevent snapping the lens into pieces.

Remove the screws from the hinges of your sunglasses by unscrewing them with your glasses screwdriver. Set them aside in a place where you won't lose them.

Lay out the three pieces of your shades (frame and two arms) on the newspaper. Tie the bandana around your face to cover your nose and mouth. Shake your spray paint can for a few seconds. Spray the sunglasses pieces from around 10 inches away until they are coated. Do not hold the spray on them so long that the paint begins to run. Let dry for several hours.

Turn the pieces over once they are dry and spray the other sides. Allow to dry for several hours.

Reassemble the sunglasses by inserting the lenses carefully and screwing the arms back onto the frame using the glasses screwdriver and tiny screws.
