Nose rings have been a popular body piercing worldwide for centuries. A new nose piercing takes about three months to heal and the jewelry should not be replaced until after that time period is over. There are different kinds of nose ring jewelry that are replaced using slightly different methods. Good hygiene and sterilized jewelry will ensure that your piercing remains clean and uninfected.

Thoroughly wash your hands and piercing area with soap and water. Try to use soap free of excessive dyes or perfumes to avoid irritation.
2Position yourself in front of a mirror and hold the tip of your nose ring. For screw-style rings or L-shaped nose rings, twist and pull the ring gently in the direction along the angled ring to remove it as if you were unscrewing a screw. You will have to twist a few more times with the screw-style rings compared to one twist with the L-shaped rings. For studs, slowly pull them out so that the ball at the end of the bar passes through the pierced hole.
3Rinse the piercing hole and your new replacement nose ring with saline solution. Position yourself in front of a mirror again and place the tip of the new ring inside the pierced hole. Screw in screw-style rings by following the direction of the curves and, similarly, twist L-shaped nose rings once in the direction of the curve to secure the jewelry. For studs, gently push the ball at the tip through the hole until it is completely inside your nose.
4Wipe the surrounding area with saline solution once again and wash your hands. Your new nose ring should be all set.
